Synthia Looper Reaches Into The Future with ‘Call My Name’

The Michigan artist explores human connection on her first release of the year...

Synthia Looper has shared her brand new single ‘Call My Name’.

Tapping into an alternate universe, the track sees Looper explore the connection between androids and human emotion through a luminous vocal performance. A definitive step towards synth-pop, ‘Call My Name’ is shaped by its cyber aesthetics, coming together as an atmospheric, yet somewhat minimal offering from the Michigan artist.

Marking Looper’s first release of the year, the track elevates her vision further. Focussing on themes of love, loss and sexuality through the lens of sci-fi fantasy and cosplay, the artist leans into the future, equally reflecting on her own, individual experience thus far.

Speaking on the track, Looper expands: “’Call My Name’ is a metaphor for the beauty of making love and the extraordinary opportunity it provides for humans to connect with someone on such a deeply intimate level (i.e. feel a sense of oneness with another person). I’m simply acknowledging one of the many beautiful experiences we as humans get to enjoy while we’re alive and something we should never take for granted, because although the android’s time on earth is infinite, ours as humans is not, so we must live to the fullest.”
