Sylvan Esso will release new album ‘No Rules Sandy’ on August 12th.
The duo – Nick Sanborn and Amelia Meath – have been teasing a fresh chapter on socials, the follow up to their 2020 album ‘Free Love’. A Grammy nominated success, their new record was previewed during a very special show at Newport Folk Festival over the weekend.
Hitting the historic folk redoubt, Sylvan Esso previewed their album in full, before sharing the official announce on social media.
Out on August 12th via Loma Vista, ‘No Rules Sandy’ taps into “who we actually are,” says Amelia Meath. “It just feels like us. We’re not trying to fit into the mould, just happily being our freak selves.”
There’s also an element of freedom, insists Nick Sanborn, which Sylvan Esso admit they’re new to. He says: “I think that the ultimate effect of our last record and the pandemic has been the feeling of like, ‘Fuck that, I know what I want.’ And it’s now or never. So let’s get out there and do it.”
