Much-tipped Edinburgh risers swim school have shared new song ‘don’t leave me behind’.
The Scottish band have played a remarkable series of scorching live shows, with red-hot hype descending on their every guitar chord. Set to plunge into action at The Great Escape, the band’s second EP ‘Duality’ hits home on May 25th.
Working with LAB Records on the release, new single ‘don’t leave me behind’ has a 90s twist. The slick production also has a neat, raw quality, recalling everyone from Lush to Garbage in the process.
Instantly catchy, ‘Don’t Leave Me Behind’ searches for connection, a song that details the simple requirement for empathy and affection in our lives. Doubling as a neat guitar pop burner, frontwoman Alice Johnson comments:
“‘Don’t Leave Me Behind’ is the emotion you feel when you meet someone you have a genuine connection with, but don’t quite know where you stand with them. You think they feel the same as you, but you aren’t sure and your mind can’t stop thinking about them.”
“We wanted to write our own version of those cheesy, early 90’s love songs. The harsh guitar tones and soft lyrics resemble the strong ups and downs you experience in that unknown place.”
