Out there in the wilds of Sweden, something seems to be stirring. Enchanted Duo are aptly named – a pairing, Anneli and Nikolaus von Knorring have a create relationship that stretches back over two decades.
Kicking off their songwriting at the kitchen table in 2003, they’ve signed blossomed, constructing a catalogue of bewitching, otherworldly music.
Leaning on the progressive side of the equation, Enchanted Duo reach for the mystical – it’s not hard to imagine them in the Swedish woodlands, connecting with both nature and mythology.
Recent single ‘Dive’ has become their calling card, a kind of lysergic journey that gleefully plays with the rules. “Most of the recording was done at a digital festival,” Nikolaus recalls. “We thought, ‘What the heck? Let’s stream the creative process.’ It turned out to be one of our most popular songs.”
The single is a harbinger for the record as a whole, with ‘Werifesteria’ connecting the dots between Goblin, say, and modern-day proggers such as Circlulus and Goat.
