Swans Confirm New Album

It's two hours long...

Led by Michael Gira, Swans have been through numerous incarnations.

Yet the singularity, the focus and intent of their music remains almost entirely unique.

2012's 'The Seer' saw the band break new ground, and achieve fresh prominence in the process as their live show reached countless fresh fans.

Now a follow up is due. Titled 'To Be Kind' the album is set to be released on May 12th, and one listen will occupy just over two hours of your life. The cast list is remarkably strong, and includes walk on performances from St. Vincent, Cold Specks and more.

Available on CD, vinyl and digital download, Michael Gira is also pondering a USB format: "I am thinking of releasing it as a USB ‘stick’ / flashdrive (with special packaging), so that this ultimate, high quality version can be listened to from beginning to end, without interruption". (via Pitchfork)
