Stateside risers Surf Curse have shared new single ‘Arrow’.
The band’s new album ‘Magic Hour’ is out on October 7th, and it finds the Reno, Nevada formed group distilling their punchy alt-rock charms. We’re hearing shades of Weezer and the Lemonheads in here, alongside their own brand of acerbic humour and lyrical flair.
Opening a full UK tour at Camden’s Electric Ballroom last night – September 28th – Surf Curse will then shoot off around the country, playing a hotly-anticipated run of British dates.
A band who relish being onstage, this energy ripples through their incoming album. “‘MAGIC HOUR’ is our excitement about rock music and being in a band,” says Jacob Rubeck. “This album is the excitement of starting something that we all can feel good about with each other, but also progressing as creative people and throwing in that magic.”
“We’re feeling that magic, what’s brewing in the air and what’s existing in what we’re doing together.”
New single ‘Arrow’ is online now, a helter-skelter brew of pop-edged energy, matching 90s alt-rock tropes to a willingness to step outside the norm. A breezy return, ‘Arrow’ has aspects of those early Foo Fighters cuts, while still pursuing its own steadfast path.
Tune in now.
