Supergrass Side Project

Diamond Hoo Ha Men Return

Evergreen Britpop survivors Supergrass are set to release a side project – with Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey returning as the Diamond Hoo Ha Men.

When bass player Mickey Quinn was seriously injured last year the pair toured as the Diamond Hoo Ha Men, playing a number of celebrated dates including a notorious session at the Clash Club. The pair even went as far as taking up alter egos, choosing the names Duke Diamond and Randy Hoo Ha.

The last Supergrass album was named ‘Diamond Hoo Ha’ in honor of the short lived band, and the records’ pared down bluesy feel was thought to have originated from the drum and guitar jams Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey undertook to keep themselves occupied.

In an interview with BBC6 Music Danny Goffey confirmed the album but was cagey on the details. It’s classified, honestly really it is,” he said. “We just got back to Australia so we’ve been doing a little tour with Supergrass. We’re doing a little Diamond Hoo Ha album, just me and Gaz, but I can’t really say what it is.”
