Seattle 60s garage legends The Sonics have confirmed their first ever UK date.
The Sonics will play Le Beat Bespoke Weekender on March 21st. The band were renowned for their wild and savage tunes influencing generations of garage rockers, notably The White Stripes who have often paid homage to their forebears. The Black Keys paid the band the ultimate compliment by recording a near note-perfect version of “Have Love Will Travel” – a song written by Richard Berry but definitively stolen by the Seattle rockers. Even dance heads will admit a fondness for the group, with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy shouting their name on “Losing My Edge”.
Reforming in 2007, appetites were whetted by two incendiary shows in New York. Tickets are available online now.
