New release from Welsh wizards

Welsh psychedelic wonders Super Furry Animals have confirmed details of their new single ‘Mountain’.

Super Furry Animals are one of Britain’s most underestimated acts. While many cannot see past the novelty aspects of the band – the humour, distinctive visuals – to many they are a pop institution.

Singer Gruff Rhys cut his teeth writing acid soaked folk anthems on the Welsh language scene, before forming Super Furry Animals. Retaining his biting lyrical wit the group expanded their sonic vocabulary to become truly out there.

Super Furry Animals returned earlier this year with their new studio album ‘Dark Days / Light Years’. Typically mind expanding, the release came after a multitude of interviews in which the group seemingly would not tell the truth about their new material.

To celebrate the band went off a whirlwind tour of the UK, before preparing to hit the festival season.

With their tight live sets and onstage exhortations to the crowd, Super Furry Animals are one of the quintessential festival acts. Perfect for sitting in the summer sipping beer to, the group have already played RockNess.

Due to headline this summer’s Green Man festival, the band are set to celebrate finishing the video for their upcoming single ‘Mountain’. However in a neat twist Super Furry Animals are giving one of their fans the opportunity to premiere the promo.
