Following on from the barnstorming Mutoid Man Brooklyn Sound broadcast from The Black Heart, Camden earlier this year we are teaming back up with Hotel Radio to once again broadcast glorious music to the far reaches of the universe.
If you weren't lucky enough to secure tickets to the upcoming Sunflower Bean U.K 'Brooklyn Sound' tour dates we have you covered. Clash will be hosting the mighty Hotel Radio live stream from Bodega, in Nottingham right here and via our Facebook page – so you won't miss any of their guitars wailing and can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
The stream will go-live at 9.00pm UK BST on 23rd July right here. Set a reminder here for the facebook stream.
Ahead of that here is a quick recap of the full 'Brooklyn Sound' tour plans.
Sunflower Bean recently took psych rock to new heights with their glorious second album ‘Twentytwo In Blue’, and it adds an extra buzz to this string of sold out very special live dates and stream. Followed up with 'King Of The Dudes' EP captured during sessions with Justin Raisen. The trio explain:
"This EP does not give a fuck, it’s reactionary, and a sharpened response to our times. Death, birth, aggression, addiction, and power. 'Twentytwo In Blue' allowed us to find our strength and on 'King Of The Dudes' we use it, no holds barred."
The first track to emerge from the EP is preening glam rocker 'Come For Me', blessed with a snapping, visceral vocal and an absolute melter of a guitar solo. Julia explains: "This song was inspired by inner strength, power, and sexual freedom. In 2018 there is no time to waste and no time for shame. This song is a declaration of that. Do you really want to come for me? Do you really want to waste my time? The song is a dare, a threat, and a beckoning." Tune in now.
The tour will kick off at The Borderline in London on 20th July, The Sunflower Bean tour bus will then roll onwards to Exchange in Bristol (21st), dropping into Bodega in Nottingham (23rd) which will be streamed right here and on our Facebook pages at 9.00pm UK BST. Don't miss out! Culminating with a very special finale show at The Crescent in York on 24th July.
Brooklyn Brewery are champions of New York's thriving music scene, providing key players with the means to tour in style. Orange Amps will be powering the back-line, the tour bus is fuelled ready, the fridge is full with cold beer and tour route mapped. Customised Brooklyn x Orange Crush Pro guitar amps will remain in-house, providing partnering venues and the touring axe slingers that will grace their stages with amplification fit for rock and roll royalty.
That (and the delectable beer) is why Clash jumped at the opportunity to join forces again. For the second tour of 2019, we are diving head first into the psychedelic rock sounds of Sunflower Bean. The sounds of New York City’s rollicking three-piece encompass lysergic guitars, heavenly vocals and powerhouse drumming.
A proud supporter of music and its community efforts since its inception in 1988, Brooklyn Brewery is looking to spread the word about great talent from its home ground, whilst supporting the work that legendary independent music venues are doing across the UK, giving a wealth of genres and talent spaces to perform.
Brooklyn Sound is live music as it should be experienced – no overpriced tickets, no booking fees, no warm lifeless beer, just a good time with great music.
See you on the road, in the front row or online!
