Sundowners built a slim but infectious catalogue, before seeming to retreat into the shadows.
The group's opening two albums – their 2015 debut, and 2017's follow-up 'Cut The Master' – epitomised psychedelic pop, while exploring other tones and hues.
Five become two, with Sundowners re-focussing on original members Fiona Skelly and Niamh Rowe to find a forward path.
The band's third album 'Pulling Back The Night' is out on April 22nd, and it infuses their psychedelic spirit with elements of Americana, folk, and more.
Collaborative in spirit – guests include Paul Weller, Steve Craddock and members of The Coral – the title track is online now.
A glorious return, the track is hued in sunset flames, with its acoustic tapestry augmented by soaring harmonies and neat guitar elements.
'Pulling Back The Night' was sculpted alongside Clean Cut Kid, and leads in to the exciting return of this vital partnership.
Sundowners explain the single in brief, saying: “Tumultuous lovers whose strengths are their weaknesses. Sick with self-destruction and the only cure is each other.”
Tune in now.
