Summer Camp Prepare Debut Album

Through Pledge Music

Summer Camp are set to begin work on their debut album after agreeing a deal with Pledge Music.

Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey may have enjoyed success with their solo careers, but together the pair have hit on something special. Summer Camp may only have released a handful of tracks, but the duo have impressed with their deeply nostalgic songwriting.

Seeming to take inspiration from the sounds of the 80s, Summer Camp turn AOR on its head. Fellow travellers with producers such as Washed Out, the duo are now focussing on their debut album.

Forming their own label, Summer Camp will release the long player through Apricot Recording Company. Teaming up with Moshi Moshi for a little bit of assistance, the duo are also set to allow fans to fund the recording process.

Pledge Music have stepped in to help the duo, setting up a new scheme aimed at fans. You can help fund the recording process and in return get some special merchandise and provide a donation to charity.

ClashMusic is literally just off the phone to singer Elizabeth Sankey who explained the reasons behind their decision. “Well we went in and met with the guys from Pledge and they were just so enthusiastic and they seemed to have a brilliant approach to putting out records and involving fans.”

“It just seemed to match perfectly with our own ideas about how we wanted it to work. We like being able to talk to people who like our music and this just seemed like the perfect way to do that, I guess.”
