R&B riser Summer Banton has shared addictive throwback jam ‘Be My Guest’.

Out now, it finds the South East London riser toying with some 00s R&B tropes. Filtering these through her own gaze, she’s able to locate something new – speaking her truth, ‘Be My Guest’ becomes the voice both of a fan, and an artist.

British soul with a Stateside haze, ‘Be My Guest’ is all snappy Destiny’s Child rhythms and lush D’Angelo keys, with the focus being placed on Summer’s voice throughout. A neat R&B excursion, the single fulfils a childhood dream.

Summer comments…

‘Be My Guest’ combines all of the elements of the iconic 90’s/ 00’s R&B I grew up on. From the production, to the classic R&B chords and the stacked vocals. Ten year old me would be so proud and excited of the song – I’m freaking out that I could write and sing on a song like ‘Be My Guest’, and call it mine!

The full video picks up on these nostalgic themes, and the styling is completely on-point. She adds:

I wanted the visual to be like the iconic 90’s/ 2000’s music videos I watched on MTV growing up. I pictured choreography, drama and iconic outfits and the director, production team and everyone involved really delivered! I had so much fun rehearsing and shooting the video.

Tune in now.
