Sufjan Stevens has shared an early demo version of his classic track 'Chicago'.
The original takes pride of place on his 'Illinois' album, toasting its tenth anniversary this year. Set to gain a full re-issue, Asthmatic Kitty Records are pulling out all the stops.
The 'Illinois: Special 10th Anniversary Blue Marvel Edition' will contain a die-cut, Chicago flag star-shaped 12” of a demo version of 'Chicago'.
Sufjan plays guitar and organ on the track, and it's fascinating to juxtapose this with the final orchestral treatment that is so effective on the official album.
