Sufjan Stevens has called out the Grammy awards over their perceived snub of Beyoncé.
Beyoncé lost out in the Best Album category, with 'Lemonade' being overtaken by Adele's '25'.
The Tottenham singer seemed stunned that she had won, paying tribute to Beyoncé and naming her "the artist of my life".
Beyoncé made do with Best Urban Contemporary Album, an award that lacks the significance of the main prize.
Sufjan Stevens wrote of his displeasure, placing a new note on his website titled 'just a reminder, don't be racist'.
He wrote:
Q: WTF is “Urban Contemporary”?
A: It’s where the white man puts the incomparable pregnant black woman because he is so threatened by her talent, power, persuasion and potential.
St. Vincent tweeted her agreement:
Re: Beyoncé and the Grammys. What Sufjan said.

A reminder: only three African-American women have won the Best Album trophy in the history of the Grammy awards.
