Synth-pop newcomers Niki & The Dove are streaming their new EP ‘The Drummer’ in its entirety.
Hailing from Sweden, Niki & The Dove have created a huge amount of headlines in a short time. The band’s synth pop has a cinematic sweep, moving far beyond the ambitions of most in that vein.
With their moody songwriting, Niki & The Dove sometimes recall Grace Jones but with the idiosyncrasies of Kate Bush. However it would be wrong to assign the duo a ‘retro 80s’ tag – their music is as much informed by the present as it is the past.
Out now, the duo’s new EP ‘The Drummer’ is their first for Mercury Records. Signing a new deal, the Swedish pair are continually working on new material with their pop edge becoming more and more apparent.
