New single due

Avant rock outfit Gallops have confirmed the release of new double A-side single 'Joust' / 'Eukodol'.

Its fair to say that Welsh multi-instrumentalists Gallops won't be buying the new Beady Eye album. Their music reeks of a resolute Futurism, mixing math rock rhythms with mutated 8-bit programming.

That's not to say that Gallops are some scenester trend. The band's approach to music is like some demented scientist, with the quartet letting loose explosive test-tubes of sound.

Touring late last year, Gallops came to our attention after bagging a few choice support slots. Heading back into the studio, the band are now focussing on releasing the forthcoming double A-side single 'Joust' / 'Eukodol'.

A step forward from their debut EP, the tracks have a renewed sense of confidence. “Remaining instrumental gives a lot more leeway for us to experiment with song structures and sounds" explains guitarist Mark Huckridge. "The tracks we have been writing lately feel more focused, I think that's partly us settling in to playing together as a band.”
