Bruce Springsteen is streaming his new album ‘Wrecking Ball’ – listen to it on ClashMusic.
It’s election year in the United States. For Americans, this is a time to reflect on the way their nation is being run, on the direction the country is heading in.
Bruce Springsteen has clearly been affected by this. The songwriter completed work on new album ‘Wrecking Ball’ earlier this year, and recently held a controversial press conference to explain where his head was at.
The Guardian probed the songwriter, who said: “What was done to our country was wrong and unpatriotic and un-American and nobody has been held to account. There is a real patriotism underneath the best of my music but it is a critical, questioning and often angry patriotism.”
Fused with the music of ‘Wrecking Ball’, this patriotism has led to one of the most direct, passionate records in Springsteen’s back catalogue.
Out now, you can stream it below.
