The Beatles have made an archive concert film available to stream for free on iTunes.
They finally made it. After almost a decade of legal wrangling, The Beatles took their music onto iTunes yesterday (November 17th) in one of the most important digital music deals ever made.
The biggest selling group in the history of pop music, the absence of the band’s music was a huge hole in the iTunes catalogue. Now fans of The Beatles can download their back catalogue instantly, including some rare tracks.
The group’s entire back catalogue is available, following a high profile re-mastering project last year. In addition to this both ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ collections are available, alongside a rarely seen concert film.
‘Live At The Washington Coliseum’ captures The Beatles as they began their assault on the United States. Starved of live appearances, the Fab Four’s first entry onto American soil was met with bedlam.
Thousands upon thousands of fans attended shows, with the term ‘Beatlemania’ being coined to cover the pandemonium. Caught in action at Washington DC, the band blast through those iconic early singles.
Dropping in a few album tracks and a couple of rock ‘n’ roll favourites the band are on prime form. A rare chance to stream the film, iTunes have made the entire concert available to stream for free.

“In the joyful spirit of Give Peace A Chance, I think it is so appropriate that we are doing this on John’s 70th birthday year,” said Yoko Ono Lennon.
