Stornoway are set to release their second album 'Tales From Terra Firma' in March.
Part of a wave of folk influenced acts who stormed the barricades of the mainstream, Stornoway had more substance than most. The Oxford band's debut album 'Beachcomber’s Windowsill' had a beautiful, hazy late summer feel which brought them cult success.
A slow burning favourite, 'Beachcomber’s Windowsill' eventually sold more than 75,000 copies and propelled the band into a hectic period of touring. Taking time off, Stornoway are now stirring into life with the band's second album now approaching.
Seemingly marking a sophisticated, significant step forward, 'Tales From Terra Firma' will be released in March 2013. Stornoway are planning to preview material from the LP at a special one off London show, taking part in the finale of A Room For London.
A collaboration between Living Architecture and Artangel, in association with Southbank Centre and the London 2012 Festival, A Room For London will find Stornoway debuting material from their new album on the roof of the Southbank Centre.
Alongside this, Stornoway have announced a typically vast UK tour in support of their new album. Opening on February 8th, the 25 date jaunt includes two hometown shows at Oxford Town Hall before focussing on the Forum in London on March 27th.
Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday (November 23rd).
