Stormzy has been banned from driving for nine months.
The UK rapper pleaded guilty via a letter to driving the Rolls-Royce Wraith while using a mobile phone device on Addison Road, west Kensington, in March last year. Stormzy did not appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, but submitted a guilty plea via letter.
The court heard that an off-duty officer knocked on the tinted passenger window of Stormzy’s Rolls-Royce Wraith in March last year, and said: “Get rid of your tints and get off your phone.”
District judge Andrew Sweet said Stormzy’s driving record was “not good” and criticised his “dangerous and irresponsible” actions; the rapper seemingly had already accrued six points on his licence for previous speeding offences.

Stormzy had been warned about his tinted windows in the past – he had previously admitted driving a Lamborghini Urus that had front windows illegally tinted to only 4% light transmission, violating the 70% requirement.
Peter Csemiczky, defending, said his client apologised and had removed the tints. Stormzy has now been banned from driving for nine months, and has been fined £2,010.
Stormzy has not commented publicly on the hearing.
