Fans of Aerosmith have been left relieved after Steven Tyler announced he was not leaving the band.
Aerosmith have a history that stretches back nearly forty years. Having shared a stage with countless rock greats the band have earned their place in musical history with a stunning series of hits.
However recently fans were left worried after a number of interviews appeared to suggest that iconic singer Steven Tyler was set to leave the band. Guitarist Brad Whitford warned that he could be replaced, with relations between Tyler and his band mates said to be at an all time low.
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry took time off last night (November 10th) to play a show in New York. Appearing at the legendary Filmore venue with his band the Joe Perry Project, the guitarist was joined by an old friend.
Strolling onstage Steven Tyler told fans that he had no intentions of leaving Aerosmith. “I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith,” he said.
Clutching Joe Perry, the singer then added: “Joe Perry, you are a man of many colours but I, motherfucker, am the rainbow!”
Tyler then instructed the band to play, launching into the classic Aerosmith hit ‘Walk This Way’.
