As part of Independent Venue Week...
Steve Lamacq

Steve Lamacq is set to take his 6Music show out on the road as part of Independent Venue Week.

The presenter wants to showcase some of the country's finest venues, those operating out-with the tendrils of big money.

So he's hitting the road. Steve Lamacq's 6Music show will go on tour, hitting Leeds' renowned Brudenell Social Club, Oxford's Jericho Tavern and more.

Steve will return to his old stomping ground Harlow Square in Chelmsford, Essex on January 26th - a venue set to permanently close just two days later.

Steve comments: “Now, more than ever, it’s important to support small, grassroots venues around the country, because, while a lot of them continue to thrive, we’ve seen many of them shut down and many still under threat.”

“We wanted to shine a light on these great little places, which nurture new talent and act as a meeting place for music fans. I’ve had some of the best moments of musical life in these little venues, watching all kinds of bands, including several who’ve gone on to huge success. But there’s nothing like seeing a group at its most raw and engaging when they’re first starting out, even if they’re only playing to 100 people.”

Details are as follows:

January
23 Leeds Brudenell Social Club
24 Birmingham The Sunflower Lounge
25 Oxford Jericho Tavern
26 Chelmsford Harlow Square
27 Brighton Sticky Mikes
