Welsh Wizards Plan Busy Summer

Stereophonics will play new material at their summer festival appearances, frontman Kelly Jones has revealed.

Jones told Xfm that the bands new material draws from a broad sound spectrum: “One side is really heavy and there’s one side which is not.”

Talking backstage at the at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, where the band played celebrating the Welsh Rugby team’s 2008 Grand Slam victory, Jones added: “But it’s going good and [bassist] Richard [Jones] has been writing songs too.”

Jones said the band would be “auditioning” the songs during their appearances at Oxegen in Dublin and T in the Park festival.

Their has been no mention of a new album release as yet.
