St. Vincent is set to act as this year's ambassador for Record Store Day.
The annual celebration of independent record shops returns in April, with a full list of releases to be unveiled shortly.
The ambassador for this year's event has been named, with St. Vincent set to lead the celebrations for Record Store Day's 10th anniversary.
St. Vincent says: "It is with deep honour and humility that I accept this ambassadorship. Rest assured I do not take my duties lightly."
Record Store Day co-founder, Carrie Colliton proclaims: "Being the Ambassador of Record Store Day is meant to be fun and a little silly, and I think it's fantastic that we're celebrating this year with a woman who can be both those things while being a respected musician and record store regular as well. It's a damn good fit."
Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal invented the ambassador role in 2009 - St. Vincent becomes the first woman to fill it, following contributions from Iggy Pop, Dave Grohl, Metallica, and more.
