Sprints Announce Debut Album ‘Letter To Self’

It's out in January...

Sprints will release debut album ‘Letter To Self’ on January 5th.

The Dublin band are on the move, with their electrifying live show and a run of singles amplifying their cause. Returning to London on October 4th for a long since sold out night at the Scala, the group are now ready to share plans for their debut album.

Out on January 5th via City Slang, ‘Letter To Self’ is their boldest work yet, a distillation of more than 18 months of hard graft. Out in just a few months, it’s led by all-new pile-driver ‘Up And Comer’ which taps into their feral live energy.

Karla Chubb, SPRINTS’ lead vocalist, says…

Up & Comer’ is a pretty dry take on a fear and self consciousness that has been ruminating in me since I picked up an instrument. This innate fear that maybe I would always be ‘good for a girl’, but would I ever actually be great? It’s an invisible narrative that has been constructed by the doubts and negativity I’ve been fed by others, as well my own imposter syndrome.

It’s a song that takes aim at the idea that some of these traits and behaviours may almost be hereditary, and instead of letting that continue to hold me back, finally break free of the expected, embrace the anger and let it rip. The only way is forward.

Tune in now.
