Spoon Delay New Album

'Transference' put back

Returning American cult heroes Spoon have delayed the release of their new album ‘Transference’.

Britt Daniel, Jim Eno, Eric Harvey and Rob Pope go by the name of Spoon. Cult heroes in their native United States the band have so far failed to take this success abroad – however on their latest album ‘Transference’ the group could be set to crack the mainstream.

The quartet’s first new album in some three years, ‘Transference’ follows in an illustrious lineage. The band’s seventh album Spoon are returning with material that seems at times definitive, and also disorientating.

First single ‘Written In Reverse’ has long been a mainstay in the band’s sets, with Spoon first playing the song live over a year ago. Given a severe overhaul in the studio, the track is a burst of ambition from the American act.

Opening with ‘Before Destruction’ the album contains some sparkling new material from the band. However, fans will have to wait a little longer to hear the record with Spoon delaying the release.

‘Transference’ is now set to be released on January 18th, following on from Spoon’s ‘Got Nuffin’ EP which was released earlier this year.

Spoon have also confirmed a number of British tour dates for February. The band are set to play a very special show in London’s Electric Ballroom next year, with more shows yet to be scheduled.

Tickets for the Electric Ballroom show on February 16th are available now!
