Split Dogs Share New Rager ‘Precious Stones’

It's an intense piece of punk bedlam...

Bristol punx Split Dogs return with new single ‘Precious Stones’.

The band have emerged from the city’s healthy DIY networks, blending punk fury with an incandescent sense of rock ‘n’ roll. Debut album ‘Here To Destroy’ is out on February 28th via Venn Records, while their live shows are already spoken about in hushed awe.

One of the main reasons for this is their palpable sense of intensity, with each note played as if it was their last. Frequently spilling out of control, Split Dogs somehow keep it all together, and this sense of purpose shines through in the studio, too.

Out now, new single ‘Precious Stones’ is a helter-skelter blast of guitar noise, with a searing vocal from singer Harry Atkins.

“The song shines a spotlight on the people that imply false authority in society based on their job title or financial position,” explains guitarist Mil Martinez. “From the obvious traffic wardens all the way up to entitled yoga instructors, nothing burns worse than being falsely reprimanded by another adult so they can attempt to assume dominance over you.”

The video keeps it simple – focussed solely on Harry’s face, it maintains a palpable feeling of directness.

Mil says of the clip: “There’s no escape, feeling like it’s just you in the room and Harry has you cornered. Relentlessly demanding that you answer the question ‘why does it burn?’”

Tune in now.
