SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE will release new EP ‘i’m so lucky’ on September 1st.
The Philadelphia band won huge acclaim for their 2021 album ‘ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH’ which became something of a breakout moment for them. The three-piece have gone back in the studio, and a new EP is slated to land next month.
Out on September 1st via the kind folks at Saddle Creek, the new document is led by a double single. Out now, ‘tapeworm’ and ‘natural devotion 2’ epitomise SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE and the questing spirit that keeps them moving forwards.
‘tapeworm’ opens with woozy spoken word, unsettling but also inviting; the guitar lines have a slender, spider-like quality, the band’s abstract nature infused with extra-dimensional melody. ‘natural devotion 2’ picks up on this – two songs working in tandem, but existing on their own terms.
