Stalwart electronic imprint Secretsundaze have shared the second single ‘Earth Is The Place‘ from their forthcoming Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble (SoSE) EP ‘I’, out November 24th.
The Nathan Haines/Phil Asher original is given a lucid uplift, taking detours across it’s marathon six-minute runtime. Featuring Tomorrow’s Warriors Cherise on vocal duties, the re-imagined version brings the classic to the future without compromising the atmospheric feel at the heart of it.
A seminal track in Secretsundaze history, the collective’s mastermind James Priestley explains: “The Nathan Haines/Phil Asher-produced ‘Earth Is The Place’ is a Secretsundaze classic if ever there was one, a constant feature in my sets and at the party since its release in 2001. The vocals around female empowerment have become iconic in my book, penned by Phil himself. In terms of our approach to it, the main desire was just to bring it up to date really, to bring it back into the current musical landscape and to take the opportunity to shed more light on a piece of music that is very dear to me.”
Helmed by Secretsundaze founder James Priestley and with members Lewis Moody (Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange), Myele Manzanza (Sound Signature), Oli Savill (Basement Jaxx), Nikos Ziarkas and Johnny Brierley as well as vocalists Shivum Sharma and Sahra Gure, the concept of Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble (SOSE) is re-imagining a songbook of Secretsundaze material.
Tune in now…
