Singer To Play Classic Album

Van Morrison has reformed the band responsible for his classic 1967 album 'Astral Weeks' and will perform the album in its entirety at a series of special concerts.

Recorded in the summer of love, 'Astral Weeks' is regarded as one of the finest rock albums of its generation. However, to label it a 'rock album' is to do the work an injustice - its take on board folk, jazz, flamenco and avant garde influences in its powerfully meditative pursuit of reason.

Still closely associated with Van Morrison, the album contains many of his finest songs including 'Cyprus Avenue' - written in remembrance of his childhood in Belfast.

Morrison has announced that he will perform the album in its entirety at a series of special concerts at the soon-to-be-demolished Hollywood Bowl this November. The performances will include several of the original musicians who played on the album, and will filmed for an upcoming DVD - 'Astral Weeks Live At The Hollywood Bowl'.

Van Morrison will play 'Astral Weeks' in its entirety at the following venues:

November 7th - Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles
November 8th - Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles
November 9th - Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles
