A special Mark Lanegan tribute concert has been announced.
The show is titled Mark Lanegan – A Celebration, and takes place on December 5th – what would have been his 60th birthday.
The concert takes place at London’s Roundhouse, a city he knew well, with Soulsavers acting as the house band; with friends Troy Van Leeuwen, Aldo Struyf and a couple of other special guests sitting in throughout the evening.
A remarkable vocalist and songwriter, Mark Lanegan’s impact can be felt through the names lining up to take part – Josh Homme, Dave Gahan, Chrissie Hynde, Bobby Gillespie, Greg Dulli, Alison Mosshart, and more
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Tuesday (October 1st).
Greg Dulli says: “What a wonderful night this will be. Singing his songs and sharing stories of our dear friend in a much-deserved celebration of his life and music.”
In our tribute to Mark Lanegan on news of his death in 2022, CLASH writer Josh Gray wrote:
The deluge of artists coming forward after news of his death broke to declare him their favorite singer of all time says it all: Mark Lanegan was a musician’s musician, an undeniable vocal presence whose voice became a stamp of quality for any song lucky enough to host it.
