Yoko Ono has confirmed plans for a special 'Imagine' global event.
The song is now 50 years old, and still retains its power – Hans Zimmer even included an orchestral rendition during the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Now Yoko and Sean Ono Lennon have joined with The Estate of John Lennon and Universal Music Group to host a global party, celebrating 'Imagine' as a song, an album, and as a film.
A full-length conceptual music film, Imagine contains songs from John's album of the same name, four songs from Yoko's 'FLY' album, and some selected addition pieces.
On September 9th at 7.30pm, fans around the world are being invited to watch the 'Imagine' film together, either online or at participating venues.
Meanwhile, the ever-popular Tim's Twitter Listening Party will host a simultaneous online Listening Party event, featuring the involvement of Yoko Ono, Sean Ono Lennon, and musicians from the 'Imagine' sessions – bassist Klaus Voormann, and drummer Alan White.
More will be announced shortly, and anyone across the globe can take part.
