South African group The Joy have outlined plans for new EP ‘Hammarsale’.
The group have a truly special sound, one born from truth, and the close interplay of their voices. They’re already receiving considerable praise, too – The Blessed Madonna linked with them on recent club booster ‘Shades Of Love’.
Blessed with a quiet sense of inspiration, The Joy hit fresh heights on their new EP. Out on August 4th via Transgressive, the six-track project blends modern acapella techniques with traditional Zulu music, using songwriting to speak their truth.
The group explain…
“The songs are pictures of our lives and daily experiences in the township of Hammarsale in Kwazulu Natal where we grew up, met and live in. The songs speak about love and hate, separation and unification, jealousy and trust, regret, hope and forgiveness.”
New song ‘Mountain’ is a beautiful experience, with its transportive impact sending you half-way across the world to South Africa – a special piece of music.
Tune in now.
