Sophie Jamieson has shared her new song 'The End Of The Road' – tune in now.
The songwriter earned acclaim for her folk roots, before opting to take a break from music.
This short break turned into five years, a period in which she completely inverted her approach to creativity, digging deeper than ever before.
Two EPs in 12 months signal her return, and the second of these – 'Release' – is out shortly.
Produced by Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Gia Ford, Lapsley), the material dwells on matters introspective, including self-doubt, and self-destruction.
New song 'The End Of The Road' is out now, it's a potent dissection of the link between the mind and the body, exploring the debilitating impact of depression.
She says: “People talk all the time about how important exercise is when you are feeling depressed, but rarely do they talk about how difficult it is when your mind is telling your body not to bother.”
“There was a period where every other time I got dressed to go running, I would get as far as the end of my road and have to stop and give up, my body too heavy to carry me though I was desperate for the release.”
Tune in now.
