Legendary New York art rock group Sonic Youth have announced plans to re-release rare EP “Master-Dik”, amongst other goodies.
Born out of the New York “No Wave” scene, the group grew to become the grandparents of grunge, their back catalogue paying host to more seminal releases than we care to mention.
Originally released in 1987, “Master-Dik” contains a Ramones cover (“Beat On The Brat”) as well as an extended sound collage. The group are also set to release the seventh release in their SYR series, a limited edition piece of vinyl that contains unreleased rarities.
Both the “Master-Dik” EP and the SYR 7 compilation are available via the official Sonic Youth website.
