SOMOH Charms With New EP ‘Problem Child’

She's addressing unresolved internal conflict...

SOMOH returns with new EP ‘Problem Child’.

The songwriter’s wispy indie pop sound is undoubtedly charming, moving from plaintive melody to full throttle grunge in the time it takes to click on a distortion pedal. Working with Far Caspian, she’s built something new, attempting to channel some long-held emotions.

Out now, new EP ‘Problem Child’ is built around the titular moment, a point where SOMOH learns to address pent-up feelings. There’s more to it than this, however – across the four tracks, she’s able to build something unified, looking at her experiences in a broader landscape.

Shining light on darker moments, ‘Problem Child’ finds SOMOH emerging renewed. She comments…

“The initial ideas for the EP stemmed from the title track ‘Problem Child’. I was going through some internal conflict due to things I still hadn’t addressed from my childhood and as I always do, I used my songwriting as a way of answering long neglected questions. Learning how to move on required me to revisit and confront these uncomfortable feelings. I’m grateful to have this body of work represent what I’m letting go off and where I’m headed next.”

Tune in now.

Catch SOMOH at London venue the Grace on March 28th.
