Solange is set to play an Alternative Inauguration Ball in Washington DC on January 19th.
The event has been organised by Busboys and Poets as an alternative to the inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump.
Taking place at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Peace Ball: Voices of Hope and Resistance aims to “celebrate the accomplishments and successes of the past 4 years and the vow to continue to be the change we want to see in the world.”
The Washington Post reports that Solange will perform at the event, alongside Esperanza Spalding, actor Danny Glover, activist Angela Davis, and Alice Walker (author of The Color Purple).
Donald Trump, meanwhile, has been struggling to find anyone that will play his inauguration. Teen classical-pop prodigy Jackie Evancho will sing 'The Star Spangled Banner', while the Mike Love-led Beach Boys are said to be considering their options.
Solange's sister Beyoncé, of course, played both of President Obama's inaugurations.
