So alt-J Are Big In America

Album hits Top Ten, Madison Square Garden show confirmed

On the surface, alt-J are a deeply British phenomenon.

After all, they sit in that lineage of artful pop which stretches from The Who to Roxy Music, The Human League to Pulp.

But new album ‘This Is All Yours’ seems to be going down a storm in the United States. The trio hit number one in this country, fighting off the amorous attentions of both Aphex Twin and Barbara Streisand.

Over in the United States, the album has hit the Top Ten. Reaching number four, it’s a remarkable achievement for the band.

Alongside this, alt-J have confirmed plans for a show at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden venue. Taking place on March 30th, it serves as an additional, one off, show to compliment their main winter tour.
