Snow Patrol Kick Off Tour

Band Play Whirlwind Dates

Snow Patrol have celebrated their new album’s forthcoming release by playing four different cities in a whirlwind two day tour.

The Northern Irish group formed in the Scottish city of Dundee more than a decade ago, and since then have enjoyed huge success. Much anticipated new album ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ will be released shortly, and to celebrate the band took to the road in an ultra-quick tour of the UK and Ireland.

Beginning in Dublin, Snow Patrol played a tiny theatre in the city centre. Singer Gary Lightbody played tribute to the crowd, saying “you guys were the first to get us. We played to 500 people here when in the rest of the UK only 50 people were showing up.”

The band then hopped on a plane to travel to Belfast, but were keen to downplay the mode of transportation. This is a little tiny airplane – it’s just a propeller, it’s not Led Zeppelin”. Lightbody added “we’re certainly not the type of band who’ll be flying around on a private jet.”

The Snow Patrol jet will be traveling to Edinburgh and London today (October 27th).
