Snow Patrol Announce New Album ‘The Forest Is The Path’

It's their first in six years...

Snow Patrol have shared plans for new album ‘The Forest Is The Path’.

The band have risen to conquer the globe, from their roots as a student outfit in Dundee to their current international status the Northern Irish group remain a remarkable success story. Out on September 13th, incoming album ‘The Forest Is The Path’ ends a six-year wait for a new album, and it will be accompanied by a massive arena tour.

So, the new album. Produced by Fraser T Smith, it follows 2018 LP ‘Wildness’, and finds Snow Patrol – Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid – moving beyond the reach of the past.

Singer Gary Lightbody comments: “It’s a way of looking at various mistakes, any pain I may have caused, from a place where nothing is hurting anymore, except the memory when you pull it back into your mind. The memory itself is full of hurt but everything around it isn’t. You’re holding in your hand this ball of fire, but now you’ve got gloves on.”

New single ‘The Beginning’ is out now, a drifting return that pivots into a huge chorus. Written in one day, from start to finish, the vocal was recorded in just one take. Johnny McDaid explains: “He did the vocal in one take. Straight after writing the lyrics. So it has this mind-collapsing quality to it where you feel like you’re seeing into someone’s soul.”

Tune in now.

Finally, Snow Patrol will play a full UK and Ireland arena tour in February 2025 – dates are as follows:

15 London O2
16 Birmingham Resorts World Arena
18 Cardiff Utilita Arena
19 Hull Connexin Live
21 Glasgow OVO Hydro
