Notorious American rapper Snoop Dogg is planning a sequel to his 1993 album ‘Doggystyle’.
Snoop Dogg has come a long way. Erupting onto the hip hop scene with his seminal debut album ‘Doggystyle’ the rapper was almost immediately banned from the UK, due to past violent offences.
A one time gang member, the rapper was soon labelled as one of the most notorious artists in the United States. Fast forward 15 years, however, and Snoop Dogg rules the charts after a stylish turn on Katy Perry’s ‘American Gurls’.
Adding some effortless sleaze to Perry’s machine like pop, Snoop Dogg stormed the summer charts. Recently allowed back into the UK, the rapper seems to be in the mood to celebrate his roots.
Shooting a new video, the MC has revealed that he is working on ‘Doggystyle II: The Doggymentury’. Produced by Swizz Beats, the long awaited album is set to be released next year.
Speaking to fans, Snoop Dogg explained that up to 18 tracks could feature on the album. “He (Swizz) just laced my boots up on my new record,” Snoop said.
“Motherfucker gave me some gangsta shit, some R&B shit, some hip-hop shit, some hard shit, some mean shit.”
Later the rapper promised “18 shots to the face” ie an eighteen track double album. Watch the video below…
