Snoop Dogg is set to appear in a new sit com written by veteran writer Don Reo.
An iconic rapper, Snoop Dogg has long since branched out from hip hop. His – ahem – cinematic output includes some under the counter material, although recent visits to Hollywood have proved to be fruitful.
The rapper appeared as Huggy Bear in the re-make of ‘Starsky & Hutch’ while the reality TV show ‘Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood’ earned Stateside success.
Now the hip hop icon is set to appear in a new sit com. Veteran ‘Two And A Half Men’ writer Don Reo has been brought on board to flesh out the project, which as yet does not have an official title.
Having worked on everything from ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ to ‘M*A*S*H*’ the writer will now turn his attention to a new project. Reo and Snoop Dogg have crossed paths previously, on the Fox sit com ‘Brothers’.
Snoop Dogg will appear in the new sit com, apparently playing a father. In addition to this, the rapper will gain a producer’s credit on the show.
A burgeoning acting career has not pulled the rapper away from his musical commitments. Performing his classic ‘Doggystyle’ album at Lovebox this summer, Snoop Dogg is set to follow this with a full British tour.
Opening in Cardiff this week, the rapper reportedly invited a retired farmer backstage. The reason? To find out the secret of growing the world’s biggest swede.
Appearing in London tonight, the tour finishes with an appearance at Glasgow’s SECC on October 9th – tickets are on sale now.
Snoop Dogg is set to play the following shows:
October
7 London O2 Arena
8 Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
9 Glasgow SECC
