Commemorating two years since the release of her album ‘Valentine’, Snail Mail – real name Lindsay Jordan – has announced the ‘Valentine Demos’ EP.
The announcement comes with previously unreleased song ‘Easy Thing’, a beautifully tender outtake track from the ‘Valentine’ sessions. The song features Lindsey Jordan’s animated and active guitar lines with a softly-sung refrain that she will “be your fool forever”.
About the release, Jordan says: “Here are the demo versions of some of the songs that would become integral to the making of ‘Valentine’. A little over three years ago, holed up at my parents’ house in Maryland, with just a minilogue synth, an interface, a mic, and a guitar, I started working on writing my second full-length record. I prefer some of the demos to what actually came out on the record because of how intimate and solitary the process was. You can kind of hear me crying in one of them. Maybe two actually haha.“
2023 has been hectic year on the road for Snail Mail. The band have toured North America and Europe, and performed at All Points East, Coachella, Rock En Seine and Green Man. It’s not over yet though, as Snail Mail will end the year with a run of shows in Japan.
