Smoke Fairies Launch New Album ‘Carried In Sound’

It's out on November 17th...

Smoke Fairies will release new album ‘Carried In Sound’ on November 17th.

The acclaimed duo meld folk, Americana, blues, and more into a potent elixir, working with Jack White and releasing on the mighty V2 Records across their storied career. Now working independently, completely on their own terms, Smoke Fairies have detailed plans for their sixth studio album.

Out on November 17th, ‘Carried In Sound’ was recorded on a DIY basis, with lockdown sessions forcing the songwriting duo – Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies – to be extremely inventive.

Accompanied by a run of intimate UK shows, the new album is dark, but also locates moments of startling beauty. “Although the album has themes of sadness on there, it’s looking at those things from a
place of strength,” says Jessica. “We’re really excited to announce a new record, carefully home crafted to represent our core sound, with notes of reflection, grief and joy, we hope you find it an emotive, rewarding experience to listen to.”

New single ‘Vanishing Line’ is out now – hypnotic musicality, it transports you into their narratives, Smoke Fairies conjuring audio vistas in the process.

Minimalist in its palette, ‘Vanishing Line’ somehow conjures something lush, with the pair expertly using textures to expand on those emotive lyrics.
