Smoke Fairies have lined up a series of October shows, alongside a 2CD compilation.
Smoke Fairies are almost perfectly named: there's a folk side to their work, a pastoral sensibility that is resolutely English but there's also a moody, introspective side which borders on the gothic, on classic noir.
The band recently went back into the studio to work on new material, which has been described by a very good source close to Clash as a "progression". A progression for the better or worse, you may wonder?
Well, wonder no more. Smoke Fairies are set to hit the road after announcing a flurry of UK shows in October, focussing mainly on church venues and small community halls.
Opening in Manchester on November 18th, the tour contains five shows and ends in London on October 23rd.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (July 12th).
Alongside this, Smoke Fairies have confirmed plans for a 2CD compilation. Titled 'Ghosts' it will be released on September 23rd, and boasts countless demo recordings, B-sides, abandoned studio sessions and rarities.
Smoke Fairies are set to play the following shows:
October
18 Manchester St. Philip's Church
19 Leeds LCM Concert Hall
21 Bristol Colston Hall
22 Guildford Holy Trinity Church
23 London St. Pancras Old Church
