UK dance music pioneers Simian Mobile Disco have been nominated for two live music awards in 2008.
Initially forming as the band Simian, their music failed to set the charts alight so James Ford and Jas Shaw packed up their record box and headed out on the DJ trail. Now called Simian Mobile Disco, the dynamic duo have rocked audiences across the world and watched in amazement as a remixed version of their Simian track ‘We Are Your Friends’ became an absolute classic.
Their stunning live show has now been recognized with the group nominated for two awards. The MTVu in the USA has placed them in competition for the prestigious ‘performing woodie’ against such giants as Kanye West.
