Smashing Pumpkins Announce Three-Act ‘Mellon Collie…’ Sequel

It's called 'Atum'...

Smashing Pumpkins have laid out plans for a new three-part rock opera, titled ‘Atum’.

The new album is dubbed as the sequel to 1995’s modern classic ‘Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness’, while also incorporating and expanding on themes from 2000’s ‘Machina / The Machine Of God’.

The first act drops on November 15th, the second follows on January 31st, while the third and final act lands on April 21st 2023 alongside a special edition box set.

Alongside this, new podcast Thirty-Three With William Patrick Morgan has been announced. The in-depth podcast is hosted by the Smashing Pumpkins lynchpin, with a new song from the broader project being revealed in each episode.
