Grammy nominated UK rapper slowthai has been charged with two counts of rape.
The rapper – real name Tyron Frampton – appeared before Oxfordshire magistrates court via video link earlier today (May 16th), charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent in Oxford in September 2021.
The Northampton artist spoke only to confirm his real name of Tyron Frampton, date of birth, and his address.
Prosecution lawyer Adam Yar Khan spoke to magistrates, informing them that the charge of rape was an indictable-only offence and hence the case must be heard at crown court.
slowthai received bail, and will appear before Oxford crown court next month.
