Sløtface’s Haley Shea Guests On Acres Wild’s ‘The Sun Is Shining’

"A perfect spring-time bop..."

Outside Clash HQ – well, this writer's flat – the sun is pouring down…

Except, well, we can't enjoy. Lockdown is in force, and apart from one visit to the shops, and one burst of exercise, we remain trapped indoors.

Thank goodness, then, for music. More specifically, thank goodness for Acres Wild and their divine new single.

'The Sun Is Shining' is exactly the indie pop belter we need in our lives, an exuberant, wholly natural, completely uplifting missive from Norway.

Magnus Askjer Lefsaker leads the project, and the melody was actually concocted by his 10 year old sister.

The finished product includes a voice you might well recognise, with Haley Shea from Sløtface showing her more tender side.

It's a shimmering, trumpet-driven feel-good single, one that bursts with sunshine from every pore.

Acres Wild comment:

“Hey! Remember the sun? You might not have seen it in a while since you have been staying indoors. It’s still here and we made a song about it for those who need a reminder of what sunshine feels like.”

Hayley adds: “I was honoured when Acres Wild asked me to sing this song with them. It was a very fun creative process to be a part of, and I think the song turned out lovely. A perfect spring-time bop to calm the anxious feelings we're all probably struggling with these days…”
